About us:
Pauline Metzger-Buggy
I grew up in Dublin, Ireland. I'm married to a Swiss
and have two adult children and 2 lively grandchildren. I
started teaching English in 1982 when I joined "Polly
Pigeon, English for Children" and built up their branch
in Wädenswil. In 1984 we moved to Bolligen where I also
built up, managed and taught at "Polly Pigeon"
in both Bolligen and Berne. Wishing to further my knowledge
in teaching, I participated in a teacher training course in
1989/90 gaining a RSA/CELTA certificate. For many years, I
was also a member of the English Teacher's Accociation of
Switzerland (ETAS) a professional body dedicated to instructing
English-teachers in the latest methodology.
In 2000 the owner of the "Polly Pigeon" school retired
but, as I still loved my job, I decided to start up "Tweens"
together with Betsy..

I was born in Africa but grew up in London, England. I am
married to a Swiss and have 3 children of teenager age. I
have been teaching English since 1992 and have the RSA/CELTA
certificate plus a BA (hon.) in English language teaching
from the University of Manchester. I am also a member of ETAS.
From 1999 to 2000 I worked together with my colleague Pauline
Metzger teaching "Polly Pigeon". Because we both
loved working with children and teenagers, we decided to set
up our own school "Tweens"
after the owner of "Polly Pigeon" retired.
